Dialogue

When accepting the quest:

We’ve got a problem on our hands.

One of those Eurasians has managed to find the perfect spot to pick us off.

He’s been taking out our soldiers with ease, and it’s time we put an end to this.

Get us his rifle, we can use its technology for ourselves.

Track him down in Ashen Mesa, take his gear.
Luca

When turning in the quest:

You finally managed to get that rifle from the Eurasian sharpshooter.

It's going to be a valuable asset, our tech teams will love getting their hands on it.

We'll put an end to this sniper's reign of terror once and for all.
Luca

Guide

  • On a destroyed mech below the village. Shares his spawn point with the Tormentor and Goldbrick, can spawn together at the same time.
  • Inside a bunker fortification overlooking the highway.

The sniper can spawn in one of two locations. He is easily identifiable by the red laser sight he uses during combat. His marker reads "Eurasian God Sniper". A Tactical Camera can help spot him.

You only need to collect and extract the God Sniper Equipment from his inventory - not to be confused with the actual gun he drops. You do not need a rig fitted with a Large Item Bin for this quest, nor do you need to kill him yourself.

He does not have a large health pool, so a few headshots with an AK or a single direct hit from a M79 Sawed-off is more than sufficient to kill him.

If he spawns on top of the destroyed mech under the favelas, he may get stuck and eventually die there at which point you will need to sacrifice a significant amount of health just to jump down to his position to claim his loot. It's best to wait until he moves off of the destroyed mech on his own so that it will be easier to access his loot.

Bugs

  • "Equipment" is spelled incorrectly (as "euqipmnet") in the game's objectives text
  • The quest item is not guaranteed to spawn in his backpack. You may need multiple runs for this.
  • The sniper may drop more than one of the quest item on death.
  • The sniper sometimes spawns buried in the sand. You have two ways to get his loot:
    • Crouch on top, aim down and perform a melee execution when the prompt appears. This will make his loot bag spawn above ground.
    • Lure him out with loud running and gunfire.
  • Not turning in the quest will allow the God Sniper to still spawn, thereby making it possible to "farm" the quest item.

Notes

  • The quest item does not disappear from inventory after turning in the quest.
  • The sniper drops a regular AK upon death which can be repaired for use. However, it will not retain his unique customization.
  • Due to the sniper's potential spawn at the bunkers side, he may end up dying very early on before the player can reach him when spawning from City Ruins or Desolated Street.
    • Because of this, his loot container may end up underground, thereby making it impossible to complete the quest in that instance.

Trivia

  • The sniper's unique weapon seems to be a heavily modified AK-74, which oddly uses a RPK wooden stock and extended barrel.
