NOTICE
CRITICAL BUG:
As of update 0.2, there appears to be multiple instances of bugs that will trigger a stash wipe outside of its intended conditions.
This may or may not be connected to the water bots added in 0.2 and their raid trigger.
In any case, players are strongly recommended to back up their save file, located in
"user"(your PC username) > AppData > Local > ForeverWinter
by creating a copy in a separate folder.

Description

Deep below the ground lay the Innards, where civilians and scavs can live in relative safety from the war raging above. The Innards act as a hub for the player scav and their squad, where they can develop and expand new stations to help survive. Welfare upgrades can also be made to give a small level of comfort to residents.

POI

Water Tank

Allows the management of the Innard water resources.

  • At base, the water tank holds 55 days of water.
  • Scavenged water must be filled into the tank manually.
  • Quests and water bots will automatically fill the tank before depositing surplus water into the player stash.

Without water, the base will start decaying. Long decay (reaching 0 water) is known as Water Death, which will trigger a Water Thief raid. Failing to defend the Innards will reset all progress in Innard upgrades and wipe your stash.

Donation Box

T Menu Icon Hubcustom Donation.png
Please consult Donation Box for more information.
Help other scavs by donating gear and resources. Allows for trading weapons between scavs in the same lobby. Currently only base weapons can be traded; no attachments, consumables, or ammo can be placed in the box. Check daily for random drops given out by the game (not other players).

Secret Storage Vault

Secret Storage Vault.jpg Secret Storage Vault UI.png
The secret storage vault is available to the player from the start of the game.
It serves to hide credits and items from Water Thieves that might succeed in raiding the players Innards.
It can hold up to 10,000,000 cr and a maximum of 10 items total.
The highest cr value item it can currently hold is the Grenade Launcher. The highest xp value item it can currently hold is the Pilot. It may also be of value to store water to quickly unlock vendors after being raided.

Innards Upgrades

Innards upgrades may be dismantled at no cost once bought, this will not refund any CR however.

Water Delivery Bots

Very little is understood about the new raid mechanic and further testing is required.
Water delivery bots passively generate water for the player by venturing into the wasteland. However, Water Thieves are able to track them back to the Innards, allowing for raids to occur outside of Water Death.

  • Once bought, water bots can not be disabled.
  • According to developer commentary, Innard raids are intended to be "incredibly rare"[1]
  • If these raids work similar to the ones triggered by Water Death, they should not occur while the player is offline but instead whenever the player logs back into the game.
  • As water thieves are said to be tracking the bots, it is possible their raids will coincide with the bots return every two days.
  • Upon logging into the game, a message will display the total amount of water gathered since the last log in.
  • The delivered water will be directly deposited into your water tank, basically removing the need to refill water manually.
  • Surplus water may not be stored in the stash.

Defensive Turrets

Disambig.svg This page is about Innard. For other uses, see Turret (disambiguation).

Deploys up to 6 20mm Turrets throughout the Innards to help fend off Water Thieves that located you.
Some testing is required to find out if defensive turrets deactivate like vendors when the water level drops below the upgrade requirement, this could strongly limit their usefulness for raids triggered by Water Death.
Fully upgraded they appear to be able to kill an entire Water Thief raid on their own.

Conclusion

  • Innards Upgrades are currently some of the most expensive purchases in-game.
  • Welfare upgrades and crafting currently offer very little to no utility.
  • New Scavs that are focused on surviving are advised to forgo purchasing any upgrades for their Innards and save their money for a better Rig instead.
  • After unlocking a decent Rig and hitting the water tanks base capacity, scavs may want to start saving money for water tank upgrades as they are needed in order to buy water delivery bots.
  • Water delivery bots are extremely useful in that they practically remove the obligation to scavenge water and refill the water tank entirely; however, as the game states, using them carries the risk of spawning random Water Thief raids outside of their normal spawning condition.
As Water Thieves are tough enemies and losing a raid will be heavily punished (Water Death), players are advised to upgrade their defensive turrets alongside them.
