Frozen Swamp
Description
An unforgiving wasteland born of industrial excess and war's relentless fury. Europa and Euruska clash in their pursuit of power, while Water Thieves lurk in the shadows, exploiting whatever opportunities arise from this toxic environment.
This map features unique interactive objects:
- Two functional elevators in the Injection Well and Scavenger Camp
Elevators appear to be bugged as players can fall through them; depending on the elevator's current position, this can be fatal[1]
- A functional drawbridge, which can be lowered using a console on the north side
- Multiple doors and containers that can be opened using a Drill. Drills can be found around the map or bought from Heisenburg or Bunco
The map also features water, or, more specifically, toxic industrial waste. Below knee depth it will slowly drain the player's health. Submerging below the neck is an instant death. You can tell the depth is safe if grass stalks are visible above the surface.
Variants
This map has a daytime and nighttime (Night Shift) variant. During Night Shift:
- Daytime units are replaced by Eurasian Cyborgs and Brawlers. Quest-related units, such as the Water Thief Sniper and Euruskan Drones, will still spawn.
- Multiple Grabbers can spawn on the map, though not all at the same time. Additionally, aside from spawning in their usual areas, Grabbers will spawn in new areas, such as the Europan FOB control room.
- Water Thieves still spawn but with much less frequency.
- Quest-related objectives and units still spawn, making them easy to spot.
- The map assumes a darkened, foggy appearance overshadowed by a lightning storm, similar to the Night Shift on Elephant Mausoleum, and visibility is significantly reduced. However, there is a more greenish hue compared to Elephant Mausoleum's Night Shift.
- The map also undergoes several aesthetic changes:
- Between the Europan FOB and the Euruskan drone nest, piles of corpses similar to the ones found on Scorched Enclave's Night Shift can be found.
- More fires can be seen in certain areas that aren't present during the day time, such as the refinery behind the Scavenger Camp entrance/extraction point.
