Description
One of the largest units that can be deployed by Europa on the field, Medium Mechs are large, blocky hulks of metal that stomp across open battlefields, able to put down fire in a complete 360 radius around themselves. They are easily distinguished from their more rounded Euruskan counterpart, and they have additional weaponry in the form of a back-mounted minigun that hangs from the Mech's back.

Medium Mechs can appear (either solo or in pairs) during the day on the following maps:
Medium Mechs also commonly appear at night in the motor pool on Elephant Mausoleum. Additionally, it is not uncommon to see 3-4 Medium Mechs at once on Elephant Mausoleum and Ashen Mesa.
Strategy
A mech possesses a diverse arsenal of weapons, including quadguns on its shoulders, the rifle in its hands, and machine guns on its front and back. Each of these components can be destroyed with enough damage, effectively disarming the mech. However, it can always stomp an enemy that gets too close to it.
A mech can sometimes be destroyed without the player's involvement by powerful enemies such as Toothy, the Euruskan OrgaMech, or a mech of the opposing faction.
The Railgun is the intended weapon for players to eliminate mechs. However, it requires a 3-player team to assemble. You can also destroy them with about 15 Grenade Launcher hits or 30 20mm hits.
If you choose to attack the mech:
- Bring lots of ammo, medkits, and a Drill
- Have solid cover to protect yourself from rockets and machine gun fire
- Consider waiting for it to be weakened or distracted by hostile forces
- Make sure there are no enemies near you that will interfere with your fight
- Keep your distance to not get stomped. The mech can approach you deceptively fast when aggroed
- Prioritize destroying the rocket pods on its shoulders and the cannon in its arms to disable its most powerful attacks
Attacking a mech is guaranteed to attract Hunter Killers and will significantly tank your reputation with Europa. Destroying one will instantly drop your reputation to zero. You can bring it from zero back to max by selling the mech's Codex.
The best spot to kill Medium Mechs is in Ashen Mesa. Simply use a Pneumatic Jump to ascend the shanty town (next to the Desolate Street spawn) to a safe height and start chucking grenades at them. The height difference will make most of their armament useless and provide great cover against the rest. If they are too far away for the launcher, simply pull them over to you by shooting them with a long-range gun.
Loot
A destroyed mech is guaranteed to drop one "Need to Drill Open" container directly below it. As the name suggests, you need a Drill to search it and drilling takes 60 seconds.
In addition, 3 "Exo Debris" are forcefully ejected in the air in a similar manner to Europan Exos. A Tactical Camera can help find the scattered containers.

As of writing, the Codex is the most valuable item in the game at 640,625 Cr. You also get around 64,000 XP for each Codex extracted.
