Description

Drills thru specific hardened loot objects and obstacles

Acquisition

Trading

• Heisenburg - in stock: 5, required level: 1

• Bunco - in stock: 5, required level: 1

Looting

From containers:

• Ground (locations: Frozen Swamp, Babel, Downtown Lost Angels, Stairway Gate)
• Supplies (locations: Tunnels)

Quests

• Sealed gacha box if it was awarded for any of Bunco's quests

Non-replayable:

• Trial by Extraction Pt.2 (amount: 1)

Usage

Some locations, such as Frozen Swamp, have areas that can be unlocked using a drill. To find out if an object is drillable, approach it and see if a hint about drilling appears.
Additionally, some containers dropped by tanks or mechs need to be drilled open to be accessed.
To use the drill:

• Put it in your rig
• Approach a drillable surface until a prompt appears
• Cycle your consumables (default 3) until you equip the drill
• Use the consumable (default 4) to start drilling
• Wait for the countdown shown on the drill

The path will open automatically. The drill cannot be recovered after placing.

The drill is an indirect requirement for obtaining most Codexes and a number of quests involving locked containers, such as:

• Clear Skies
• Electro-Magnetic Railway Pt.6
• Harvest Upgraded Mechanicals
• Kursk's Children
• Scav's Prescription
